Homoron Blue Lagoon (historically referred to as the Spanish Lagoon) is a natural rock basin situated along the coastal boundary between Mahatao and Ivana on South Batan Island. Enclosed by dark volcanic rock formations, the pool is filled with clear, turquoise sea water fed by tides from the ocean channel.

Historical Context and Natural Features

During the Spanish colonial period, local oral history notes that this natural sheltered cove was reserved for Spanish officials and religious clergy seeking a calm swimming area shielded from open ocean currents.

The surrounding dark basaltic rock barriers break incoming ocean waves, creating a calm, natural swimming pool even when outside channel waters are rough.

Homoron Lagoon offers a refreshing swimming spot along the South Batan tour route. The water is clear, deep enough for swimming in central areas, and free from strong currents under normal tide conditions.

2. Volcanic Rock Formations

The lagoon's perimeter consists of weathered black volcanic boulders and cliff faces, contrasting against the blue-green color of the water basin.

3. White Beach (Maydangeb Beach) Nearby

Located just a short distance from the lagoon is Maydangeb Beach (White Beach), a small stretch of white coral sand framed by green cliffs.
